Kentucky's natural beauty is the main display of the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, where more than 730 acres of the stone outcroppings and lush wilderness areas of the Kentucky River Palisades are preserved. Over 10 miles of trails wind through the sanctuary, passing remnants from 19th century settlers' farmsteads and offering abundant chances for catching sight of the region's native flora and fauna. At the entrance to the sanctuary, a nature center has interactive displays on the region along with informative brochures on what can be seen along the trails. Located next to the Kentucky River, from downtown the park is about 12 miles to the southeast.
