Showcasing approximately 50 different breeds, the Kentucky Horse Park is an active farm and museum exploring the history of various horse breeds and horse racing. The International Museum of the Horse is filled with antique horse-drawn racing carriages and transportation vehicles, archaeological remains and modern portraits. A home for retired racing horses, the park also has daily horse parades, walking paths and monuments celebrating some of these great animals. The park sits just off the interstate about nine miles north of downtown Lexington.
