The Waveland State Historical Site features a stately 1847 Greek Revival mansion, built by Daniel Boone's relative Joseph Bryan. Both the residence and the surrounding grounds have been restored to a 19th century feel, and guided tours of the area highlight the lives of the plantation's owners and the slaves which they kept. It is positioned on the southern end of the city, past Shillito Park.
